Directions and Initiatives

The major directions of our work are:
  • Raising awareness among US-based educational, research, and diaspora organizations on YSU and its activities
  • Support in networking and establishment of partnerships with US-based organizations 
  • Fundraising and establishment of FoYSU Endowment Fund for implementation of educational, research, and infrastructural projects proposed by YSU 
Some of FoYSU’s flagship initiatives include but are not limited by:

Educational initiatives

  1. Scholarships for Diaspora students for 1.5 years in Armenia-Diaspora leadership MA program,

  2. Scholarships for International Students in Armenian and Regional Studies,

  3. Professorships for international faculty in selected YSU departments (Economy, Law, International Relations, History, Sociology, Education Studies, Theology, Oriental Studies),

  4. Translation and publication of selected fundamental works to Armenian,

  5. «Digital YSU» comprehensive online platform with learning courses and materials tailored to the needs of diaspora students.

  2. Research projects on regional studies: South Caucasus, Greater Middle East, Russian Studies,

  3. Global network for Armenian Studies, support to Armenian Studies in partner Universities across the world,

  4. Research projects on Armenian Studies (New Armenian Dictionary, Critical Assessment of Armenian History).
